EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Operations Technician Deadline June 3, 2022
The Resort Municipality of Osoyoos, BC located in the beautiful South Okanagan Valley is accepting applications for the position of Operations Technician.
Position Information
Reporting to the Director of Operational Services, this full-time unionized position will provide support to the Operational Services department through technical and administrative work related to the completion of a variety of engineering activities and projects. This position requires a degree of independence and sound professional judgement. The Operations Technician supports the department by assisting team members in their duties as required, meet service expectations, department goals and objectives.
The Operations Technician acts as one of the primary points of contact for initial front counter and phone inquires and complaints from the public and external agencies regarding the municipality's engineering regulations and processes, and development application requirements related to engineering. The Operations Technician aids in response to inquiries from the public, developers, contractors, consultants, or other agencies. This position requires the successful applicant to review and assist with permit applications, engineering drawings, calculations and contract documents to ensure compliance with established design and standards.
The preferred candidate will have graduated High School and has a Certificate of Technology from a recognized Technical Institute in Civil Engineering, related to civil engineering design, survey and drafting, plus additional specialized courses in municipal infrastructure field or equivalent combination of training and experience. The ideal candidate would be eligible for registration with the ASTTBC and has a minimum of 5 years of related experience in local government engineering, and or development control and a current and valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
This is a full-time unionized position that is 35 hours/week. The hourly rate for this position is $36.04 - $44.49 per hour depending on qualifications, plus an attractive benefits package.
