Public Hearing Amendments to Zoning Bylaw No. 1085, 1998

Public Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 7pm in the Council Chambers located at 8707 Main Street in regards to the following amendments:
  1. No.1085.90, 2014 “Business Friendly” Amendments to Commercial Off-Street Parking Regulations will make our parking regulations more business friendly, including reducing our in-lieu parking payment from $10,000 to $3000 per space, lowering parking requirements for a licensed establishment from 1 space per 3 seats to 1 space per 4 seats, and relaxing parking requirements in the Downtown C1 zone including for restaurants.
  2. No. 1085.91, 2014 Amendments to Multi-Family R7+ Residential Zone will replace the probably illegal device in our current bylaw for automatically allowing increased multi-family residential densities in the Downtown parking core area, with Council discretion to consider higher than normal density developments on suitable sites through comprehensive development (CD) zoning.
  3. No. 1085.93, 2014  Amendments to Renumber the Zoning Bylaw Provisions for Medical Marihuana Grow Operations (MMGOs) will make a housekeeping change to relocate our application regulations for MMGOs to another section of the Zoning Bylaw that will be more easily accessible for the public and will avoid conflicts with our Municipal Ticketing Information (MTI) Bylaw.
     
    All persons will be given an opportunity to be heard and/or present written submissions on the matter above. Written submissions can be mailed to the undersigned or emailed to info@osoyoos.ca (The Town will only guarantee that emails received to this address will form part of the Council Agenda.) The deadline for written submissions is 12:00 pm (Noon) Thursday, October 16, 2014.
     
    Copies of the proposed zoning bylaw amendments may be reviewed by clicking on the links below  or at the Department of Planning and Development Services, located at 8711 Main Street from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm from Wednesday, October 8, 2014, to Wednesday, October 15, 2014, excluding lunch hours from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm and excluding Saturdays and Sundays.
