PUBLIC HEARING for 5601 Lakeshore Drive November 4, 2020

Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw No. 1230.28, 2020 and Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1085.132, 2020

Public Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 6:00 pm at the Sonora Community Centre located at 8505 68th Avenue.

​​​​Council will receive input on the Official Community Plan (OCP) Amendment Bylaw No. 1230.28, 2020 and the Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1085.132, 2020, which received first and second readings on September 21, 2020.

Proposes to change the Official Community Plan (OCP) Land Use Designation as follows:
Current:
Tourist Commercial – (TC)
Proposed:
High Density Residential – (HR)

Proposes to change the Zoning Bylaw:
Current:
C4 – Tourist Commercial
Proposed:
R7 – High Density Residential
 

The proposed amendments to the OCP Bylaw and Zoning Bylaw, if adopted, would allow for a multi-family development on property legally described as Lot 5, District Lot 43, SDYD, Plan 23385 (5601 Lakeshore Dr)

All persons will be given an opportunity to be heard and/or present written submissions on the matter above.

Written submissions can be mailed to the undersigned or emailed to info@osoyoos.ca (The Town will only guarantee that emails received to this address will form part of the Council Agenda). The entire content of all submissions will be made public and form a part of the public record for these matters.

The deadline for written submissions is 12:00 pm (Noon) Wednesday, November 4, 2020.
A copy of the proposed zoning bylaw amendment may be reviewed at www.osoyoos.ca or at the Department of Planning and Development Services office, by appointment, located at 8711 Main Street from October 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31and November 2, 3, 4, 2020 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, excluding lunch hours from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm and excluding Saturdays and Sundays.

  • IF YOU ARE SICK OR EXPERIENCING FLU-LIKE SYMPTOMS PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THIS FACILITY.
  • If you have any underlying medical conditions, it is recommended that you not visit our facility.
  • If you have travelled outside Canada, you are not permitted on our premises until you have self-isolated for a minimum of 14 days.
  • Physical distancing is required at all times (minimum of 2 meters).
  • Failure to observe physical distancing risks the closure of the facility, and as such, you will be asked to leave the premises.

All visitors are not allowed to use the front entrance where the Okanagan Library is located. 
You must enter the building using the east/back side of the building (parking lot door near the Osoyoos Elementary School Basketball Courts).

Visitors will be encouraged to wear masks in the hallway, wash/sanitize their hands before and after accessing the building and must follow physical distancing guidelines.

You will be required to complete a screening form and sign an informed consent when entering the Sonora Community Centre.
